Yvonne Charlotte Martins

Yvonne Charlotte Martins, aged 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Born on December 3, 1954, Yvonne was a beacon of joy and a source of unwavering support to all who knew her. Her laughter and love of life were infectious, and her presence enriched the lives of many. She was the cherished daughter of the late Richard and Shirley (Severson) Schultz, who instilled in her the values of kindness and devotion that she carried throughout her life. 

A loving partner in life and adventure, Yvonne was married to her soulmate, Jerry, for a golden 50 years. Their story was one of shared dreams and mutual respect, a testament to enduring love. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Kory (Dawn) and Tim (Karilyn), who brought into the world grandchildren Lucas (Alissa), Melanie, Thor, Austin, Zoe, and Autumn. These precious lives were Yvonne’s pride and joy, and she cherished each moment spent with them. 

Yvonne was also a beloved sister to Rod (Jeanne) and Doug, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and an unbreakable bond. The family gatherings were always a highlight, filled with her laughter and the warmth of her spirit.

As a homemaker, Yvonne created a haven of love and comfort in her own home. Her marriage began in Hales Corners, where she and Jerry embarked on their shared journey, weaving a tapestry of life filled with love and laughter. Yvonne's home was not just a structure of walls and beams, but a repository of cherished memories and the simple joys of everyday life. 

Yvonne had an abiding passion for the outdoors, finding peace and solace in fishing, gardening, bird watching, and camping. Her hands, always tender in their touch, brought forth blooms of flowers and bounties of vegetables, reflecting her nurturing spirit. 

Family holidays were a special delight for Yvonne, occasions that shone with her great sense of humor and loving attention. She made each celebration memorable, instilling traditions and creating moments that her family will treasure forever. 

In remembering Yvonne Charlotte Martins, we celebrate a life lived with an abundance of love and laughter and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Should friends desire, contributions will be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization close to Yvonne’s heart.

A celebration for Yvonne will be held at at Clifford’s Supper Club on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
