William V. Kowalkowski

Kowalkowski, William V. Born December 21, 1918. Born to Eternal Life January 3, 2012. Son of the late Walenty and Balbina Kowalkowski. Beloved husband of the late Felicia Kowalkowski. Loving father of Irene (Barry) Riggs, Chesterine Lombardo, the late William, Jr. and Susan (The late John) Plewa. Proud grandfather of Renee (Brian, Jr.) Hess, Natalie (Shawn) Parrish, April and Liam Lombardo, Benjamin (Tara) Riggs and Kimberly (Todd) Straus, Andrew (Rose) and Jeremy Plewa. Dear brother of Czeslawa (the late Joseph) Cendrowski of Poland, and the late Rose Mierzejewski, the late Anna (the late Henry) Nowakowski, the late Walter (the late Irene) Kowalkowski, the late Joseph (Elizabeth) Kowalkowski. Dear brother-in-law of the late Wanda Borkowski, the late Sophie (the late Henry) Behlke, the late Chester (the late Bernadine) Borkowski and Albin (the late Bernice) Borkowski. He will be missed by many other relatives in Poland and in the United States. Bill was a lifetime activist in his local community and in the larger circle of Polish American organizations and causes. As national president of Federation Life Insurance of America (now PRCUA), Bill led many fraternal, civic and patriotic efforts. He was a leader of the Polish American community, recognized by American Presidents and the Polish government who awarded him medals of honor. He and his beloved wife, Phyllis gave of themselves to help immigrant families. All they did for others was an extension of their deep Catholic faith. In addition to his memberships in countless organizations, Bill was a proud member of St. Roman Parish, Knights of Columbus Cardinal Stritch Council and the IMPS (International Mushroom Pickers Society). The family would like to thank Dr. Mazzulla, Dr. Ashpole and the staff and residents of Lutheran Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Roman Parish Endowment Fund, Lutheran Home or Polish Center of Wisconsin would be appreciated. Visitation at the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel, Franklin, WI. on Friday January 6, 2012 from 4 - 8 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Further visitation on Saturday January 7th at St. Roman Parish (1810 W.
