William John Potrykus, Jr.

Potrykus, William John Jr. Born July 9, 1964 and went to the gym one last time May 17, 2011 after a tragic accident while on vacation. Loving son of William Sr. and Lynne. Loving brother of Laura (Jeff) Anderson. Beloved father of Sydney Acosta. Terrific uncle of Ryan and Adam. Best friend of Dr. Paul Riegleman and special friend to Tamara Steinlicht. Bill was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived there until the family moved to East Troy, Wisconsin in 1974. There, Bill went to school, graduating from ETHS in 1982. Bill was very active in sports and fitness throughout school, his favorite sport being football, which he excelled at. After graduating, Bill packed up and moved out to Southern California where he attended Glendale Community College. He was an outstanding offensive lineman there, receiving many awards and eventually earned a football scholarship to Mankato State University. Bill graduated in 1989 with a bachelor degree in Marketing. From there, Bill began his career in the field of home healthcare/medical supplies. His job took him to all parts of the US, but he eventually returned to his home state of Wisconsin, settling down in LaCrosse after beginning a job as a Post Acute Care Account Executive with KCI in 2006. Bill excelled at his job and was well liked by all of his clients and co-workers. Bill was an avid football fan and especially loved the Badgers and Packers. His smile could light up any room he walked into. We will never forget Bill's outstanding sense of humor and joy for life. Bill, you were the best son and brother a family could ever hope for. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful memories. We will all miss you dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name to the charity of your choice. Visitation on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL. Funeral services on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10 am at the funeral home with interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
