William Edward (Ed) Dean Frith Sr. Passed away peacefully on December 18, 2021, at the age of 76. Beloved husband to Carol (née Moucha) for 50 years. Loving dad to William (Eddie) Frith Jr. and Trina (Wayne) Kiefer. He was born June 7, 1945, in Etowah County, AL to George and Estell (Walker) Frith. He honorably served in the United States Army. He moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1970, where he met the love of his life, Carol. Together Ed and Carol started a family and began their life journey together. Anyone who met “Big Ed”, as he was affectionately known, learned quickly that he was proud of his southern heritage, had an opinion on most things, was not afraid to share that opinion and had a strong belief in what was right and wrong. Those that were fortunate enough to really get to know him, found that he also had a compassionate side. Many friends and relatives learned that if they really needed help, whether it was a place to stay or a car needing repair, Ed would be there for them. And if they were truly in need, that auto repair would be covered by the promise of a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon. Ed made sure that the people he cared about were taken care of. Ed had a strong work ethic that helped him in his career as a Teamsters truck driver. He loved to work on cars, watching NASCAR races, Packers football and was a voracious reader. He enjoyed trading books with friends to get the latest good read. He would then snack on M&Ms and dig right into that book until all hours of the night. Ed is survived by his wife, Carol; children William Jr. (Eddie), Trina and son-in-law Wayne; brothers, Herbert, Gary and George; sisters, Sherlyn, Karolyn, Margret, Trina and Betty; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell and granddaughter Ashley Kiefer. He is further survived by special friends Patrick Lynch and Patty Westphal. A celebration of life will be held at Max A. Sass, 1515 W. Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI, on Friday, January 7, 2022, with visitation starting at 3:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm. Ed will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. His memory will be kept alive every time we lovingly remember him.
