Hebenstreit, William Charles Of Greenfield, Wisconsin, age 84 years, passed away on August 21, 2006. Beloved husband for 55 years of the late Myrtle Mae Rantz Alexander. Step-father of the late Garland (Shirley) Alexander. Dearest brother of Andrew Hebenstreit of Waupun, Wisconsin and Thomas (Judy) Hebenstreit of Carmel, Indiana. Step-grandpa of Michael, the late Debbie, Robert and Steven. Further survived by twin great-grandsons, sister-in-law Betty Curtis and her son Michael Curtis, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Mary Egan and the Mount Carmel Health and Rehab staff. Funeral Mass Friday, August 25, 2006, 10am at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, So. 63rd St. and W. Oklahoma Ave. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation Friday, 9am to 945am at the Church only. Born on March 10, 1922 in Omaha, Nebraska, the oldest son of Dr. Austin and Octavia (nee Comiskey) Hebenstreit of Waupun, Wisconsin. Bill was a graduate of Thomas Moore High School and attended Marquette University. He then enlisted in the US Army during WWII and served as a medic of three years in the North African and Italian combat zones. He worked at the Zablocki VA Medical Center for over 35 years and was a resident of Milwaukee and Greenfield since 1945.
