Walter “Wally” L. Pfeiffer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and craftsman, was called back to God on November 27, 2024, at the age of 83.
Born on March 2, 1941, to Bertha (nee Lange) and Walter Pfeiffer, Wally was the youngest of five siblings. Wally served his country with honor in Vietnam, a testament to his dedication and bravery.
On February 17, 1968, Wally married the love of his life, Linda (nee Kordus), with whom he shared a life filled with love and joy. He was a wonderful father and an amazing grandfather, cherished by his family for his warmth and wisdom.
Wally was an excellent craftsman, always brimming with new ideas for projects overflowing with creativity and skill. His talent was showcased by a 40-year career at Derse, Inc., where he was respected and admired.
Deeply committed to his community, Wally was highly involved with the Franklin American Legion Post 192, Hales Corners VFW Post 10394, DAVA Milwaukee Chapter 19, Milwaukee Voiture 1519, and IUPAT Local 770. He also contributed to the American Legion Kimberly Clark Salute Program. Wally was also passionate about poppy-making, enthusiastically and thoughtfully contributing to this meaningful tradition by making small planters from recycled materials.
Wally made friends everywhere he went. He loved his trips to Harbor Freight and learning what he could from everyone he met. He enjoyed solving word-search puzzles and watching How It’s Made, Drain The Oceans and the seasonal Cupcake Wars. He often roamed around the subdivision on his scooter visiting all his neighbors. He was witty and stubborn but had a heart of gold. He will be cherished by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of others.
Wally is survived by his wife Linda, his children Michelle (Kenneth) Boatman, Mark Pfeiffer, Dorothy (Robert) Schackmann, and his grandchildren Josephine (Ryan) Schackmann and Geoffery Schackmann. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Wally's memory will forever be cherished and remembered for his warmth, humor, and wisdom. His legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
