Victor W. Gestwicki


Passed away November 8, 2022 at the age of 85. Husband of the late Sharon R. Gestwicki of Pickerel, WI (passed 12-25-2001).


Born November 20, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI. He was son of the late Edmund J. Gestwicki and Leona (nee Kroll) Gestwicki. Victor attended Boys Tech High School and then served in The U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1957. He attended Engineer School Bn MCB at Camp Lejune, NC. Honorably transferred to The Marine Corps Reserve as Sergeant until November 22, 1961. Later Worked for Staff Electric Co. for over 40 years as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 61 years. He was a life member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans holding many leadership positions over the years.


He is survived by Daughters: Kim Lee (Keith) of Spooner, WI and Gail Bellisle (Bryan) of Deerfield, IL. Sons: Wayne Gestwicki (Jill) of Cudahy, WI, Gary Gestwicki of Lexington, MD, and Gene Gestwicki (Pamela) of Muskego, WI. He is also survived by Granddaughters: Joanne Michalski (Robert), Rachel Merkt (Nick), and Julie Brabender (Braylee). Grandsons: Cory Gestwicki (Emily), Jacob Lee, and Andrew Lee (Amanda). Great Grandsons: Wilder, Hawkins, and Shepherd Merkt. Great Granddaughters: Raelynn Michalski and Mykah Gestwicki. The family is forever grateful for the love and support of his close companion Magda. In addition to his wife Sharon, he was predeceased by his brother Eddie.


He enjoyed fishing, playing music and golf and spending time with friends, home and abroad. He was incredibly proud of his entire family.


He had been battling numerous health issues for a number of years, including lymphoma. Recently he encountered many complications after lung cancer surgery and fought for as long as he could.

Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8500 W Cold Spring Rd. Greenfield, WI 53228. On Monday November 14, 11 AM to 12:45 PM with Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM. Burial will be at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Pickerel, Wisconsin on Tuesday November 15, at 12 noon.
