Velnicke, Vernon M. "Vern" Resident of Bell Tower Place in Franklin. Found peace and joined his loving wife Dorothy on May 25, 2014 at the age of 94. Dearest Daddy of Judy (Tom) Serbiak and Joyce Walczak. Loving Grandpa Nickie to Peter (Angie) and Julie Serbiak, Suzette (Patrick) Bill and Tony Serbiak; Alexis, Joseph, Steven, Jack, Ella, Tessa; and Hailey Rae. Brother of Virginia (Ralph) Jeziorski. Special friend of Judy Visek. Further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Emily. Vern was a WWII veteran in the US Army, co-owner of Dorothy's Pastry Shop, a volunteer at the Insight Program at radio station WYMS for 12 years, and a volunteer at Pleasant View and Robinwood Schools in Franklin. Special thanks to Zilber Family Hospice for their kind care. Visitation on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the MAX A. SASS & SONS FUNERAL HOME from 2-5pm with a 5pm prayer service. Additional visitation on Monday, June 2, 2014 at ST. JOHN PAUL II PARISH ST. HELEN, 3307 S. 10th Street from 9:30am until the Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin appreciated.
