Thomas "Tom" Christopoulos

May 6, 1924 — June 15, 2017

Christopoulos, Thomas "Tom" Of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully last Thursday, June 15th. Tom will be remembered as a good hearted, hardworking, indestructible person. Tom was born in Milwaukee in May of 1924. He served in Pattons 3rd Army for 3 years, earning a Bronze Star in October of 1944 for his courage during the Battle of the Bulge. After the War, Tom attended Kansas State where he graduated with an engineering degree. Remarkably, even after almost losing his feet to frostbite in the War, Tom went on to play halfback for Kansas State, where he was known at the Galloping Greek. Tom joined Babcock & Wilcox and for the next 32 years progressed through a variety of engineering and manufacturing roles, ultimately retiring as the companys Chief of Quality Control. He is preceded in death by his Father, Gust Christopoulos, and Mother, Kanella Christropolous. Also, his sisters Ann Christopoulos, and Dorothy Hudson; and brother, Nicholas Christopoulos. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Christopoulous. They have been married for 38 years. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Mission Hills Chapel on Friday June 23 starting at 11AM until time of service at 11:30AM. Donations in memory of Tom can be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
