Thomas John Kaczynski

Thomas John Kaczynski ("Pa K"), age 70, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017 in Arizona where he recently became a proud snowbird homeowner. Tom was born January 27, 1946 to Sigmund and Regina Kaczynski. He is the beloved brother of Nancy Zakrzewski (late David) and proud dad to Lori (John) Hoch, Craig (Jackie) Kaczynski, Brian Kaczynski and Jeff (Sayuri) Kaczynski. Tom loved his six grandchildren, particularly their sporting events and will be greatly missed in the stands by Maddie (15), Katie (15), Justin (10), Max (5), Arya (5) and Claire (2). He also leaves behind his dear friend Julie Kampa. Tom worked for Milwaukee Public Schools for over thirty years as a guidance counselor and teacher. He was a long time scorer and timer for many MPS High School basketball and baseball games, as well as University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Men's and Women's basketball. Tom was a long-time member of the Wilson Park Little League Board as well as a coach. Our family remembers many summers at the Wilson Park fields. He worked tirelessly to promote the league and enjoyed every minute with his kids there. Tom also was a dedicated volunteer to St. Roman School athletics coaching basketball and soccer, working the festival and being the all-around "Gladiator" supporter at athletic events! While his kids never got to play in the new St. Roman gym, he was proud to see his grandkids play there as he spent over 20 years involved in St. Roman athletics. He was a member of St. Roman Parish until his death. Tom loved golf. He played as often as he could and even made his own clubs (who doesn't need a bag full of woods!) He was a starter at Oakwood Golf Course and enjoyed heading to work at 5am to greet all the regulars. Tom's funeral is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2017 at St. Roman Parish (1810 W. Bolivar) with visitation at the church from 3:30-5:45pm and a Funeral Mass at 6pm with a reception to follow at the Polish Center. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tom's life.
