Thomas James Frohna, of Greendale, WI passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at age 83 just as he lived—faithfully, quietly, peacefully and among family. A graduate of Don Bosco High School and Marquette University, Tom committed over 40 years teaching thousands of high school students at Don Bosco, Thomas More and Pius XI. He loved teaching his students how to use correct grammar and give a proper speech, but, as importantly, he also took great interest in people and rarely forgot the names of his students and their accomplishments. He never met a person without asking them where they went to high school; while somewhat embarrassing to his children, he could always get a conversation started! After retirement from education he worked as a courier for Roman Electric for several years. Tom enjoyed playing and watching golf, taking drives through Whitnall Park, and playing the piano. He found so much joy in bringing smiles to others through his piano playing in the lobby at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was honored to volunteer as Religious Education teacher for many years. His wisdom, gentle spirit and appreciation for dry humor will be greatly missed. Tom is survived by many who were blessed to have known him including his beloved wife of 60 years, Rita (Varick) and his children of whom he was so proud: John (Dawn), Greg (Wendi), Michael (Kathleen), Jim (Diana), Jeanne Rhodes (Scott), Mark, and Mary (Heather). He is also deeply loved by his twenty grandchildren, Maria, Andrew, Samual, Addison, Arianna, Etara, Adam, Alex, Nick, Elise Bolt (Mike), Grant, Ahman, Sofia, Zoe, Connor, Danielle, Brady, Stuart, Henry, and Charlie. He is further survived by his brother Ron (Marge), many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was preceded in death by both of his parents, Rudolf and Phyllis (Cichocki), twin brother Jim and his wife, Charlene and sister Mary (Mentel) and her husband, John. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 2nd at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (6060 W. Loomis Road, Greendale) from 8:30am-10:15am, followed immediately by a celebration of life mass at 10:30am. The family would like to thank all his physicians and especially his care team from Aurora Home Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pius XI High School (Milwaukee, WI) or St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” Mitch Albom
