Thomas E. Brent

Brent, Thomas E. Born March 5, 1938. Died October 25, 2008, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Beloved and caring husband for 41 years to Carmeen (Mainella) Brent. The greatest Dad, friend, hunting and fishing partner to John, Jim (Tammy), the late Joe, Jeff, Bob (Judy) and Dave (Karen). Fun loving and patient Papa to Joey, Holly, Amanda, Tony, Chloe, Alex, Vinny, Giovanni, Travis and Ally. Best Great-Papa to Giovonni (mother Natasha) and Samantha (mother Lori). Preceded in death by his brother Jim (Connie) Brent. Good friend and brother-in-law to Guy (Carole) Mainella, the late Erna (Jim) Batley, Ted (Mary) Mainella, Hugh (the late Ellen) Mainella and Ann Mainella. Tom shared a friendship of 65 years with fishing and hunting buddy Russ Ruland and many other lifelong friends. Further survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews. He was a Member of the Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin. Winner of the Sportsman of the Year Award 2003. Retired from Chrysler after 30 years. Tom worked harder through his retirement at Metropolitan Survey and Lake Shore Towers to subsidize his fishing, hunting, and vacations with his wife and in-laws. When not working through his retirement Tom and Carmeen enjoyed wintering in Florida and with many visits from family and friends. Special thanks to family friend of 44 years Sharon Jones for always being there and the Wheaton Franciscan Hospice Care. Tom taught his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren the value of family through his example, with love. He will be greatly missed by all. Gone Fishing...... Visitation will be at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL on Tuesday, October 28, from 4:30 PM until the time of services at 7 PM. Private interment.
