Therese “Terry” May Rivett age 90, went to her heavenly home on August 30, 2021. Therese was born in Calumet, MI on May 28, 1931 but spent the majority of her life in Milwaukee, WI. While Therese never married, she lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. Her family meant the world to her and Therese was deeply threaded into the fabric of all of their lives; celebrating every success and lending a sympathetic ear to every struggle. Her family meant more to her than words can describe. Therese had a fiercely independent spirit and an endless love of adventure and learning. She was passionate about the theater and made numerous trips to New York City to get immersed in Broadway shows. She loved music especially the old crooners, Elvis and Simon & Garfunkel. Therese was a huge Wisconsin sports fan as well dating back to her time working at Marquette University. She loved the Golden Eagles and was a huge admirer of coach Al McGuire. In addition, she followed the ups and downs of the Brewers and was openly obsessed with Green Bay quarterback, Brett Favre. Therese participated in countless volunteer opportunities and always enjoyed a rousing game of Yahtzee or Scrabble. She was a woman who loved the Lord, her family, church and community. Therese is survived by her nieces and nephews: Michael (Donna) Rivett, Michelle (Bernie) Coenen, Karen Eliades and John Rivett; her great-nieces and nephews: Nick & Kristina, Lindsay, Meghann & Dwight, Manny & Dana, Josslyn & Lukas, Lauren & Tony, Brady and Joel and 4 adorable great-great nieces and nephews: Cora, Henry, Teddy and Sophie. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Karen Rivett. Therese was proceeded in death by her parents, Minnie & John Rivett, her brother, John and her recently deceased brother, Frank. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:15am on Wednesday, September 8th at St. Roman Parish-1710 W. Bolivar Ave, Milwaukee, WI. followed by a funeral mass officiated by the Reverend Father Brian Holbus. Burial will follow at St. Adalbert’s cemetery-3801 S. 6th St. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Therese’s name to the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Luke’s hospital MRICU for providing such compassionate care of our beloved Aunt.
