Theodore Frederick Zaeske

Theodore Frederick Zaeske, known affectionately as Ted, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023, in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on July 14, 1933, Ted lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.


Ted is lovingly survived by his children, Donald (Deborah) Zaeske, Jennifer (John) Henke, and Jason (Dawn) Zaeske. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Kristin (Jeff) Moore, Justin Zaeske, Lauren Zaeske, Joseph (Breanna) Dellis, Jordon Pitchford, Taylor Zaeske, Tanner Zaeske, and Logan Zaeske. Ted was also a doting great-grandfather to Adele Moore, Wyatt Moore, Madison Dellis, and Joey Dellis. He is survived by his dear brothers, LeRoy, Jim, and George Zaeske, and was preceded in death by his wife Karen and by his parents, Walter and Sophia Zaeske.


Ted proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his dedication and love for his country. Following his service, he worked for many years as a driver for Waste Management. Upon his retirement, Ted chose to help his wife with her daycare business, showcasing his love and commitment to family and community. Ted and his wife Karen also fostered many children over the years, providing love and support to those in need.


A true family man, Ted's face would light up whenever his grandchildren were around. His kind, loving, and funny nature made him a joy to be around, and he will be dearly missed. Ted was also an avid storyteller, captivating his listeners with tales of his life experiences and adventures.


An enthusiastic sports fan, Ted enjoyed listening to the Brewer games in his garage while sipping on a Pabst Beer. After spending 20 years of his retirement in Tennessee, Ted recently returned to his beloved Wisconsin, where he continued to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed tending to Roses and watching cardinals.


Ted's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and laughter. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those left behind.

Services will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park at a later date.
