Thelma I. Zauner

Zauner, Thelma Born June 20, 1924, died May 15, 2014. I was born on June 20th 1924 to George and Johanna Tkachuck. Six brothers and sisters preceded me and within a year my little brother Richard Tkachuk was born who became my long life friend. I grew up in West Milwaukee and graduated from West Milwaukee High School in 1942. I met the love of my life my junior year in high school, Julius B. Zauner and we were wed on November 18th, 1945. On June 23rd, 1947 we had our first son Alan, and over the next twelve years God blessed us with three more children, Gary, Janet and David. I loved to dance, play baseball, walk at Southridge Mall and bowl. For many years Julius and I bowled at Kuglitsch's Bowling Center and Riviera Lanes in West Allis. I loved hanging out with my card club friends, taking car rides to Lake Geneva and Burlington, visiting the cabin at Post Lake, and spending time with my children and grandchildren. Julius and I were married 69 years before I passed and he stayed by my side until the end. No one could have asked for a more loving husband and faithful companion. I am survived by my husband and three sons, two daughters-in-law (Kelly & Michelle), six grandchildren (Jamie, Aaron, Eric, Ryan, Aubrey and Molly) and two great -grandchildren (Benjamin & Nora). I loved my family and friends and ask that God watch over them while I'm away. Visitation at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel on Thursday, May 22 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Service at 7 pm.
