Dahms, Terry G. God decided He needed Terry, so he took him peacefully on June 27, 2018 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Carroll (nee Olszewski) for nearly 63 years. Proud father of Randy Dahms (Luci Skala), Kevin (Charlene) Dahms, Carrie (Brad) Garland, and Shari (Harold) Dahms-Sande. Cherished grandfather of Jessica Dahms, Amanda Dahms, Brenda (Josh) Heinecke, Jacob (Lindsay) Dahms, Heather Garland (fiance Matthew Bergmann), and Ryan Dahms. Great-grandfather of Hayleigh and Toby. Dear brother of Gloria (the late Richard) Oberlin, Cheryl (Michael) Krzewinski, the late Faye (the late Thomas) Tilley, and the late Jacqueline (Ronald) Mueller. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Majorie Dahms. Further survived by loved relatives and many friends. Terry was a hard worker and he dedicated his life providing for, and taking care of his family. His passions were fishing, gardening, woodworking, and baking. Terry enjoyed weekends away up north over the years where he could be outdoors. He loved to try new cookie recipes and shared them with whoever stopped to visit. He enjoyed socializing and he had a way of making people feel welcome. Terry had a green thumb and he spent the winter months growing plants in the basement. He used them to create beautiful gardens around the house and he always gave potted plants to family and friends. His children inherited those same interests and will continue them in his honor and memory. Above everything, we will all miss his smile and laughter. A Memorial Gathering for Terry will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel on Friday, July 13 starting at 11AM until the time of his Memorial Service at 12PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged and appreciated to either Jackson Park Lutheran Church (www.jacksonparkchurch.com) or to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
