Teresita "Tessie" Tolentino Bustos Md

February 20, 1945 — April 9, 2021

(February 20, 1945 - April 9, 2021) Teresita Tolentino Bustos, MD was born to eternal life April 9, 2021. Beloved wife of Roberto Lacap Bustos for 42 years. Loving mother of Joseph Bustos, Michael Bustos and Theresa (Craig) Schultz. Beloved Lola (grandmother) of Jude, Remi and Korra Schultz. Reunited in perpetual light with her parents Simeona and Conrado Tolentino, and siblings Angelo Tolentino, Conrado Tolentino Jr., Ben Hur Tolentino, and Maria Concepcion Fernandez (nee Tolentino). Teresita is further survived by many relatives and friends. Teresita was born February 20, 1945 in Pasig City, Philippines. She attended the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center where she received her medical degree. She then immigrated to the United States to further her medical training as a resident in Anesthesiology at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin. She established a permanent practice in Anesthesiology at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, where she was one of the first female anesthesiologists in her department. She practiced there for 33 years before retiring on October 31, 2013. Outside of her professional career, Teresita had many other passions and hobbies. She was well-known for her green thumb. She took great pride in her garden, spent hours walking around the yard and looking at the growth of her new flowers every season. Teresita also loved to travel the world, accompanying her daughter, Theresa on her many martial arts tournaments across the globe during high school. In her later years, she looked forward to her annual excursions with her husband and relatives. She loved traveling to Rome, Italy, and Spain the most, taking in the food, culture, and rich histories. However, her travels to the Philippines during her retirement were the most rewarding and fulfilling. She was an active participant on the surgical team, providing anesthesia pro bono during medical missions. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. Her deep love for her family was her driving force and motivator to recover from her medical ailments. After months of battling and reassurance from her family, Teresita found peace and answered God’s calling to return to Him. Her family would like to extend special thanks to the 9S and MRICU staff of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center for the exceptional care that was provided during her final days. Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel, Franklin on Friday, April 16th from 4pm-8pm with a 6pm prayer vigil.
