Sophie M. Ciske

Ciske, Sophie M. (nee Walendowski) age 97, January 23, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Leonard. Loving mother of Daniel (Sandra) and the late Ronald Ciske. Cherished grandmother of Kyle and Claudia Ciske. Dearest sister of Esther (Robert) Kuhns. Further survived by 22 nieces and nephews, close neighbors and friends. Preceded in death by sisters Mary Slominski and Theresa Maciolek, brothers Tony, Jack, Sylvester, Richard and Edward Walendowski. Sophie was born in Milwaukee and raised two active boys in New Berlin. Leonard and Sophie retired to a leisurely life in Butternut and Wautoma, Wisconsin. She returned to the Milwaukee area after Leonard's passing. She enjoyed her new friends and caregivers over the past year at Library Square in West Allis. Sophie was also known for her steel trap memory, fondness for desserts and flair for dressing nicely. She liked to reminisce about the time she worked in the Milwaukee printing business and often recalled her teenage years picking cherries in the scenic orchards of Door County. Visitation on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at ST. JOHN PAUL II PARISH ST. HELEN CHURCH, 3329 So. 10th Street from 9:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma, Wisconsin on Thursday.
