Shirley A. Waggoner

Shirley A. Waggoner, 82, passed away peacefully at her home December 16, 2018. She was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, eventually settling in Greendale, WI for over 50 years. Energetic, strong-willed and independent, Shirley loved to meet challenges head-on. Displaying natural athletic ability, she often competed with her brothers on the golf course, bowling alley and tennis court. Shirley was a graduate of Custer High School in Milwaukee and worked in several office administration positions before beginning the demanding task of raising her three rambunctious boys, mostly on her own. Shirley’s professional career began and ended at the Milwaukee County Zoo, where she was employed in the business office until her retirement. In retirement, Shirley found love and great happiness and enjoyed many wonderful times with friends and family. Shirley was truly one of a kind and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sons Marc, Craig and Brett Behling; step daughters Julie (Paul) Miller Pam (Ralph) Howe, Lisa (John) Katorski, grandchildren Maya, Audrey and Aidan Behling; Tim (Bobbi Jo) Hinkley, Nicole Hinkley, Caitlin Howe, Joshua (Emily) Miller, Tyler Miller, Kelsey Miller, Danielle Katorski and Brandon Katorski; great-grandchildren Kyle, Dalton and Mason Hinkley, Kaden Zambo, Payton and Reid Miller. She is also survived by brothers William Staab and Richard (Monica) Staab; sisters Sandra (Ronnie) John and Susan (John) Firlinger. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dean Waggoner and sisters Marilyn Kelber and Patricia Stoltz. Memorial Gathering at Max Sass Funeral Home, Greenridge Chapel, on Friday, December 28, 10 - 12pm. Memorial Service at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Petfinder Foundation.
