Sherlene Karen Bosse, affectionately known as “Gramcracker” to her family, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on October 11, 1934, in Milwaukee, she was a beacon of light and love to all whoknew her. Sherlene's life was a tapestry of creativity, spirit, and unwavering love that touched many hearts.
Sherlene is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Bosse. Richard and Sherlene were married in 1959 and soon after they started their family. They are preserved by their four children: Charmaine Schaefer (Bosse), Denise Bosse-Schmitt (Paul Schmitt), James Bosse, and Rachel Bosse (Michael Hollowell).
Family was the cornerstone of Sherlene's life. She is survived by her beloved family. Daughter, Charmaine Schaefer and her family: Sheridan Ava Schaefer (Mitchell Boelkow) and Tess Lauren Schaefer (Christian Olson). Daughter, Rachel Bosse (Michael Hollowell) and her family: Joesph Richard Bosse, Emma Rae Olvera (Ivan Olvera), Jordan Joseph Bosse, and Ella Rae Bosse (Tyler MacLennan). Sherlene's legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren: Ezmeralda, Josefina, LaRoux, and Ivan Jr; who brought immense joy to her later years. As well as daughter, Denise Bosse-Schmitt and her family: Spencer Schmitt and Logan Schmitt. And son, James Bosse.
After graduating from Notre Dame High School, Sherlene embarked on a fulfilling career with AT&T, where she dedicated many years before her well-earned retirement. Her personal life was marked by the same commitment and passion she brought to her creative pursuits. Sherlene's creative spirit shone brightly in her love for sewing, cooking, and gardening. Sherlene was known for her expert seamstress abilities, crafting clothing, pillows, and blankets for her family. She possessed an innate ability to create warmth and beauty in everything she did, whether it was stitching together a quilt or preparing a family meal.
Friends and family will remember Sherlene for her spirited conversations, her loving embrace, and her infectious laughter. Her presence could light up a room, and her persistent tenderness was a source of comfort and strength. Sherlene was the heart of her family, a friend to many, and a stranger to none. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life was one of her most remarkable qualities.
As we bid farewell to Sherlene, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. Her spirit, her love, and her creative touch have left an unforgettable mark on the world. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her legacy and spirit will continue to inspire and influence generations to come.
