Sharon M. Debaere

September 5, 1960 — May 19, 2024

Sharon Marie DeBaere, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. Born on September 5, 1960, in Kentucky, Sharon lived a life that was as vibrant and nurturing as the house plants she so tenderly cared for. She was the cherished wife of John DeBaere for 45 glorious years, a partnership that was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect.

Sharon was Miss Teen Wisconsin and a proud alumna of West Allis Central, class of 1978, where the foundation for her illustrious career was laid. Her professional life was marked by dedication and excellence, as she served the Federal government for 38 years before her well-deserved retirement. Sharon's work ethic and commitment to service were only eclipsed by her boundless love for her family.

As a mother, Sharon was nothing short of extraordinary. She instilled in her children—Christopher (Ashley), Nicholas (Sara), Nathan, and Matthew (Heather)—the values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family. Sharon was a guiding light in their lives, always leading by example and providing a safe harbor in any storm. Her grandchildren, Jace, Gracie, Hannah, and Josie, were the apples of her eye, and she reveled in every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Sharon's love extended to her pets, whom she adored with every fiber of her being. Her home was a sanctuary for all living things, where each plant and pet were cared for with a tenderness that was uniquely Sharon. Her enthusiasm for local sports was infectious, and she could often be found cheering on her favorite teams with the same passion she applied to every aspect of her life.

Family was the cornerstone of Sharon's world, and she was the heart of hers. She was a beloved daughter-in-law to Rolland and Kathleen, and sister-in-law to Karen (Ellen), Michael (Monica) and Bobby (Frank). Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Those who knew Sharon were touched by her selfless spirit and her capacity to give without expecting anything in return. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless acts of kindness.

In every community she was part of, Sharon left an indelible mark. Her involvement in associations throughout her career allowed her to touch the lives of many, always striving to make the world a better place. She was a woman of grace, a nurturing soul whose absence will leave a void in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Sharon's life was a beautiful mosaic of the roles she played so effortlessly—a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adored grandmother, a trusted friend, and a respected colleague. Her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who loved her, and her smile was a light that will continue to shine in their memories.

Today, as we remember Sharon Marie DeBaere, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. We honor a woman who was the epitome of love and generosity, and whose spirit will continue to inspire us every day. Though she has left this earthly realm, her legacy of love will continue to flourish in the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Sharon's journey through life was one of grace, her footsteps leaving a path for others to follow—a path of compassion, selflessness, and unwavering love. As we say goodbye, we take solace in the knowledge that her love will forever be our guide, her memory a treasure locked within our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Sharon. Your light will never fade.
