Scott Laskowski

Scott Laskowski, 61, of Greenfield, WI, passed away on November 26, 2021. Scott was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Maryann and Donald Laskowski on May 13, 1960. Scott can be best described as a lifelong lover of science, nature, and philosophy. Being a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge, he has always been ready for a good thought-provoking conversation or telling stories of his life adventures. In recent years, he took to memorializing those life experiences in a series of short stories. An avid astronomer, he gave lectures and interactive tours at Yerkes Observatory, the University of Chicago, thus fulfilling his passion for physics and astronomy. As an active member of the Milwaukee Astronomical Society, Scott functioned as the organization’s Secretary until he fell ill and could no longer fulfill those responsibilities. Scott also volunteered as a trailblazer for the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and enjoyed hiking the trails he helped maintain, especially those in the Monches segment. In his leisure time, you would find Scott watching any variety of science fiction shows, with Twilight Zone marathons at the top of the list or catching up on martial arts movies, science magazines, and a variety of artifacts. Scott has amassed a treasured collection of meteorites and photographs he took of the eclipses he observed, the moon, and other astronomy-related events. Special experiences of many to note, was a trip with his mother, Maryann, on a barefoot cruise in the Caribbean to observe a total solar eclipse in 1997 and another eclipse tour to the Baja Peninsula. Scott will be greatly missed, remembered fondly and forever loved by his family and friends. Scott is preceded in death by his father Donald Laskowski. Scott is survived by his mother Maryann Laskowski, brother Mark Laskowski, his sisters Linda Gould and Lisa Laskowski, Nephew Andrew Gould, and his nieces Olivia Laskowski, Isabel Laskowski. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation at Max Sass Funeral Home, Greenridge Chapel, on Wednesday, December 1, 10 AM to 12 PM, Funeral service at 12 noon. Entombment to follow at Arlington Cemetery.
