Sandra J. Malacara Trevino

June 30, 1962 — October 20, 2024

Sandra Jane Malacara Trevino, affectionately known as Sandy, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, in Milwaukee, WI, at the age of 62. Born on June 30, 1962, in Racine, WI, Sandy was a beacon of joy and laughter in the lives of all who knew her.

Sandy's journey began as the cherished daughter of Richard Malacara and the late Josephine Castillo, and the beloved stepdaughter of Everado Z. Castillo. Her vivacious spirit was matched only by her dedication as a mother to her children, Marisa Santiago, Alyssa Calderon, Vernessa Calderon, and Michael Calderon, who will carry forward her legacy of love and humor. Sandy's role as a sister was deeply valued, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters Sylvia Malacara, Rose Marie De La O, Annette (Lucio) Nunez, Margaret (Anthony) Gude, Marlene (Jacinto) Torres, Melanie (Jimmy) Santiago, and Elidia (Rafael) Rosales. Her life was further enriched by her nine grandchildren and one soon-to-be great-grandchild, who brought her immeasurable joy.

The memory of Sandy's late husband, Ricardo Trevino, remains a testament to enduring love. She is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Castillo; her nephews, Ricardo Miguel Malacara and Antonio A. Amaro; and her great-nephew, Ricardo Cruz Malacara. Despite these losses, Sandy's resilient spirit never wavered, and she continued to be a source of strength for her family.

Sandy's career was devoted to caring for her children, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her work within the home was her greatest contribution, ensuring that her family was raised with love, laughter, and an appreciation for the simple joys in life. She was a woman of many interests, with a particular fondness for word searches, indulging in snacks, and watching cat videos that never failed to make her smile. An enthusiastic Green Bay Packers fan, Sandy's game-day spirit was contagious, bringing family and friends together to cheer on their beloved team.

Those who knew Sandy will remember her as funny, loving, and thoughtful—a woman who could easily light up a room with her humor and warmth. Her ability to find happiness in everyday moments was a gift to all who had the privilege of being part of her world.

Sandy's family includes a wide circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly. She has left an indelible mark on their hearts, and her stories and laughter will echo in their memories for years to come.

As we say goodbye to Sandra Jane Malacara Trevino, we celebrate a life lived with genuine kindness and a playful spirit that never faded. Her presence will be profoundly missed, yet her influence will continue to be felt through the love she shared and the lives she touched. Sandy's journey on earth has concluded, but her story will be told with affection and joy by all who were honored to know her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the community and all who have been part of Sandy's life. Her spirit, now free, will forever remind us to cherish the moments, embrace our loved ones, and always keep a sense of humor close at hand.
