Wagner Ruth F (Prather) (nee Crowley) Our beautiful mother went to sleep on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her husband Fritz Wagner and Brother in law Joe Andrasic. Anyone who knew our mom knew the most important things in her life were God, family, laughter and chocolate. (A whole lot of chocolate!) She was one of 3 daughters born to Charles and Elsie Crowley and leaves behind Mary Jane Andrasic and Cecelia (Hurbert) Bodwin. The much loved mom of David John Prather and Charlene (Paul) Glenton. Caring Grandmother Kim (John) Harsch, Kelley (Scott) Christy and Trayce Prather. Great grandmother of Jack, Adam, Owen, and Makayla. Fond Aunt of Linda (Johan) Mills and Laurie (Scott) Demyan. Great aunt of Josh, Corey, Zack, and Arielle. She is also survived by her best friend and neighbor; Kurt Kneser, "extended" Family; Jan Westbrook, Liz Prather and Pat Mullen and other lifelong friends. A member of St Johns Lutheran in West Milwaukee, she especially liked Thursday night worship with Pastor Pres, Jean, Elaine, Pat, Chris, Dennis, John and her daughter. Random thoughts about our mom include; She played the French horn, her father was in the Spanish-American War, a graduate of West Allis Central, A member of the Wauwatosa Rec Band with her sisters, after WWII she moved with her son to "Occupied" Berlin for several years, at the age of 50 she enrolled in UWM to study German, She collected music boxes, an employee of Ladish for 40 years, loved to travel to Europe, New York, Florida and Ohio, a competitive speed walker winning several 1st place awards for her age group, a volunteer who wrapped bandages and sewed dolls at Manor Park, she visited shut-ins until she broke her hip in 2011, a fan of British comedy, and avid reader until she lost her sight in the late 1990's, she could eat a half gallon of chocolate ice cream in one sitting, we loved her Swedish meatballs, she was our mom, our friend, our nurse, and our inspiration. We will miss her so very much, but we will remember, reminisce, laugh and cry and her legacy will live on. In keeping with mom's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Max A Sass and sons Funeral and Cremation service Greenridge Directors 414-282-4050
