Schulz, Russell W. Passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side in Milwaukee on October 12, 2013 at age 87. Loving husband of the late Virginia (nee Konieczny) Schulz and wonderful father of Anita (Robert) Pietrykowski, Diane Grove and Mary Ellen (William) Sallwasser. Proud grandfather of Andrew (Natalie) Grove, Peter Grove, Jessica (Kelly) Reimer, Wendy (John) Ward, and Eric Sallwasser. Great-grandfather of Trevor, Justin and Owen. Russell, one of twelve children, was preceded in death by Gladys, Dorothy, LaVerne, Pearl, Ethel, Marilyn, Arleen and Walter. Survived by Donald, Kenneth, and Jane. He is further survived by other relatives, nieces and nephews. Visitation at Max A. Sass Funeral Home, Oklahoma Ave Chapel on Wednesday, October 16 from 4-8 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed John Paul II Parish, St. Alexander Church located at 1568 West Holt Ave., Thursday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery to follow. Memorials suggested to Holy Wisdom Academy in Russell's name. Russell was a World War II veteran. He was a lifelong, self-taught concertina player. He delighted family and friends with his music, especially polkas and waltzes. He also played his concertina for residents of nursing homes and recently, residents of Wilson Commons. He was a parishioner of St. Alexander Church for 59 years and a church usher for more than 40 years. He also loved to dance with Virginia and belonged to the Wagon Wheels square dance club for many years. He resided in his family home for 58 years and loved to maintain his yard and grow flowers and tomatoes. He was a kind, peaceful and loving man who will be greatly missed by all.
