Russell J. Franke

Franke, Russell J. Entered the Home of the Lord on Friday, Sep.28, 2007 at the age of 87. Russell was born on January 7, 1920 to Arthur and Anna(nee Reindl)Franke. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, WI in 1937. He was a member of the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division during WWII. Russell graduated from the University of Madison in 1950. He worked for the Allen-Bradley Co. in Milwaukee for 32 years, retiring in 1982. On Sep. 1, 1948 he married Eleanore A. Kozaczuk. Russell is survived by his daughter Karen(Peter)Hansen of LaCrosse, WI and son James(Mary)Franke of Waukesha, WI. He also leaves five grandchildren, Matthew(Pamela)Hansen of LaCrosse, Rebecca Franke of Chicago, Jacob(Stacy)Franke of Waukesha, Amanda Franke and Emily Franke of Milwaukee, as well as two great-grandsons, Lucas Hansen of LaCrosse and Austin Berninger of Waukesha. Russell is further survived by one brother and three sisters, Arthur(Mary)Franke of West Bend,WI, Jeanette Boldt of St.Paul, MN, Carol Thiel and Marjorie Allen of Manitowoc, WI. In addition he leaves a special niece, Anne Reuther, five sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother, Milton, and five sisters, Lucille, Ethel Jagodinsky, Grace Pierce, Florence Knutson and Violet Garberg. Funeral Services will be on Monday, Oct.1 at 2:30 PM at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF WEST ALLIS, 7520 W. Lapham Street. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30PM until the time of the service. Interment will be on Tuesday, Oct.2 at 11:00AM in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI.
