Rudolph "Rudy" Zemanovic

May 23, 1932 — December 29, 2022

Rudy passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022, at the age of 90. Loving Father of Dave (Dianne) Zemanovic, Jane (John) Schreiner, Sue (Matt) Chase, the late Donald Zemanovic, and Tim (Dawn Brockman) Zemanovic. Proud grandfather to Michael (NiCoalle) Zemanovic, Patrick (Kayla Carey) Zemanovic, John (Miranda) Schreiner, Dan (Ana), David (Barbara) Schreiner, Caitlin Traxler, Zach Zemanovic and Tate Zemanovic. Great-Grandpa to Olivia, Max, Cornell, Tessa, JB, Becca, Gustavo, Mia, Dylan, Avery and Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (nee Siesco). Son, Donald. Parents, Joseph and Julia Zemanovic, and siblings Wilma, Stanley, Julie, Margeret, Joseph, Anthony, Robert, and William.

Rudy was born and raised in Milwaukee. He was proud to have served his country in the Army as a Sergeant with the 101st Airborne Division. He saw combat with the 7th Infantry Division during the Korean war from July 19, 1950, to August 28, 1951.

When he returned from the war, he went to school and got married in 1955 and started a family. He graduated from the Chicago Area Technical College with a degree in Architecture in 1956 and became a Wisconsin-licensed Architect in November 1963.

Rudy was a member of the Knights of Columbus since the early 1960s, the Boy Scout Master of St Rita’s Troop # 595, and a proud member of the St. Charles Boys Home board of directors. He was a private pilot since 1982 and loved flying. Rudy was an architect for over 50 years and owned Architects/Planners for most of that time. He won an award for the historic restoration of the F W Boelter building. He has left a legacy of many buildings in the Milwaukee area, including many churches. Rudy and Dolores were lifelong Packer fans. They even traveled to Japan to watch the Packers play. Rudy was a master craftsman, and it seemed he could build or fix anything. He was also an artist and worked in many media, from drawing to woodworking.

Whether you knew him as Dad, Uncle, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, or a friend, you know he really loved helping in any way he could. We will miss him dearly! God Speed
