Roy Allen Bancroft

Roy Allen Bancroft Roy Allen Bancroft passed away peacefully on September 17.2012 at the age of 88. He was born on June 14, 1924 near Chilton to the late Trubert and Ethel Towne Bancroft. Roy served his country in the Army Air Corps and later graduated from MSOE with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for many years at Hevi Duty Electric Company and completed his career at Sorgel Electric, later a division of Square D Corporation. Roy was married to Marjorie Hennings of Kiel for 55 years until her death in 2007. Roy was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister Helen Jaschob. Roy is survived by his children, Lynn and husband Will Walker of Charlotte NC, David of Greendale and Laurie and husband Carl Hovey of Racine. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Adrienne Stauffacher and husband Eric, Richard Walker and Carol Walker as well as two great-grandchildren, Henry and Will Stauffacher. His is further survived by his sisters Ruth Hunt, Hazel (Peggy) Schuette, Bernice Jost and brother Harold (and Marlene) Bancroft. Roy loved his family above all else. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Packers, Badgers and Brewers and was a student of history as well. He and Marge filled their retirement years traveling and researching their family history creating two books detailing the family genealogy. Visitation at Max A. Sass Mission Hills Chapel, 8910 W Drexel Avenue, Franklin, WI on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 4 6 PM. Additional visitation at Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W Main Street, Chilton WI on Friday, September 21. 2012 from 10 11:30 AM with services to follow. Internment at Charlestown Union Cemetary.
