Roseellen Bartelt

September 7, 1932 — October 16, 2020

(nee Matthews) Found peace on October 16, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Lyle Bartelt for 61 years. Proud mother of Debra, Jeffrey and Diane (Buddy), Loving granny of Sara (Victor), Melissa (Tiff) and doting great grandma of Sammy. Aunt to Claudia and Jerry. RoseEllen was very proud of her German heritage and Northwest Side Neighborhood. She was an outstanding Washington High School graduate. Hard work was never a problem for RoseEllen. She had various occupations and was employed by many companies such as Schusters, Gimbels, Hot Point, Master Lock, South Division High School (Attendance Officer), Hamilton High School (Kitchen) and she also worked part time for the city of Milwaukee Election Commission. In her spare time she was a member of the Democratic Party and a proud union member. RoseEllen had a passion for Boston Store, Elvis and Rock n Roll. She loved to dance. She was very dedicated to her family and friends. The word I “can’t” was not in her vocabulary. She always had time for everyone. RoseEllen was stubborn and set in her ways but she had a heart of gold. She will truly be missed. Mom, we didn’t lose you. We were lucky to have you as our mother. Rose was one of a kind and was a breast cancer survivor. RoseEllen will surely be missed at the South Division Alumni Luncheons. She proudly wore her cardinal mask .The family wants to thank West Allis Memorial Hospital for their great care and support, especially Dr. Patel and Dr. Pentala. A visitation will be held at the Max A. Sass Funeral Home Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St) on Saturday November 14, 2020 from 9 AM - 10:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Church (3160 S. 63rd St. Milw.) at 11 AM November 14, 2020. Private interment Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. “Elvis you won’t be lonesome tonight”
