Ronald "Ron" Lindberg, age 83, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. His daughters, who cared for him as his health declined over the past several years, were at his side as he journeyed into his spiritual existence.
Ron was many things during his life - a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a US Navy veteran, an engineer, among many other things. He had a goofy sense of humor and a contagious smile. He loved to dance the two-step, donning cowboy boots and hat, with a pretty lady on his arm.
Ron was born and raised in Minnesota. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 with his mother’s approval, and upon graduation, was off to sea. Here began the adventures he would share with family and friends for the rest of his life. Ron met Carol, his future wife and mother of his children, when he completed his enlistment but remained in the US Navy Reserves. They built a life together in Wisconsin, relocated to Arizona for several years and then parted ways.
Ron began a new life in Texas, where he hung his hat for the next 35+ years. The only thing he loved more than Texas was his family, who he continually tried to convince to move there too. As he grew older, he returned to Wisconsin to be close to his family.
Ron touched the hearts of many people and will be remembered with love and fondness. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy, and grandson Aaron. He is survived by his three daughters Dawn Strzok, Corinne Lindberg, and Margaret Powers, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on June 22, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Meyer’s Restaurant (4260 S. 76th Street, Greenfield, WI). Military honors will be presented by active-duty members of the US Navy.
