Ronald R. Roit

November 1, 1950 — September 5, 2023

On September 5, 2023, the world said goodbye to a humble and skilled man, Ronald R. Roit. Born in Aurora, Illinois on November 1, 1950, Ron was known for his hands-on skills, sharp wit, and deep love for his family and hobbies.

Ron graduated from high school in Markesan, WI, in 1968. It was during these formative years that he discovered his talent and passion for building models. Over the years, he meticulously assembled over 1000 models of various vehicles, a testament to his patience and craftsmanship. His love for cars also found an outlet in his extensive collection of model cars, with a keen fondness for the El Camino.

After high school, Ron pursued an engineering degree at Madison Area Technical College, an education he later supplemented at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. His thirst for knowledge and expertise played a significant role in his successful 40-year tenure at Allen-Bradley Company in Milwaukee, where he became an indispensable part of the team, and never missed a day of work.

Ron’s personal life was as rich and fulfilling as his professional career. He met Kathy, the love of his life, in Markesan in 1972. Their strong bond culminated in a loving marriage in 1974, marked by mutual respect and shared joys, including trips to NASCAR events, swap meets and social time with their close circle of friends.

At home, Ron enjoyed tending to his flower gardens and keeping the bird feeders stocked for his feathered visitors. He was a darts sharp-shooter among his friends, and often enjoyed a cold Bud Light. A hands-on man, Ron took pride in completing home remodeling projects on his own, and had a knack for fixing just about anything. A man of few words on first impression, those who knew Ron well cherished his dry sense of humor and gift of gab.

A loving and devoted husband, Ron says goodbye to his wife of 48 years, Kathy, as well as nieces and nephews Tracey Evans, Linda Bramer, Cindy Ball, Samantha Roit, and James Roit, great-nieces and nephews Harley Hunkapiller, Abrielle Roit, Ricci Scott, Joshua Kelly, Christopher Kelly, Austin Kelly and Nicole Bramer, and great-great nieces and nephews Talon, Dakota, and Sierra Bramer, and Trinity, Charity and Joseph Scott, and Clark Bramer-Graham, who will remember him with love.

Ron leaves his dear friends Dennis Linzmeyer, Davey Evans and Dave Zanto with love and the fondest of memories. Ron is eternally grateful to his generous and caring neighbors Terry and Kathy Guggenmos, who have supported Ron, Kathy, and their sweet dog Kiki in every way imaginable through times of health and illness.

Predeceased by his parents Stella and Anthony Roit, sister Effie Evans, brothers Paul and Richard Roit, nephew Gregg Roit, nieces Valerie Evans and Mary Roit, and great-nephew Warne Bramer Jr., Ron will be remembered as a steadfast and loving figure in the lives of his extended family and friends.

A man of great skill and quiet strength, Ron’s legacy is one of dedication, love, and a life well-lived. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Rest in peace, dearest Ron.
