Ronald Abel

Born August 23, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI to Joyce (Schultz) and Walter Abel. Born to eternal life December 16, 2020 at the age of 81. Ron graduated from South Division High School and was active in track and chess club. In 1960, he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Madison and moved to California, where he worked on the Apollo/Saturn program. While there, he met Margilea Swan; they married in 1971 and settled in Greendale. Ron achieved a master's degree from Marquette University, and he worked as an engineer for many years with General Electric. Later Ron taught Electrical Engineering classes at MSOE. Ron was also an active member of the Lion's Club, Toastmaster's and their church, Hales Corners Lutheran. He was an avid tennis player. Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by two daughters, who he is very proud of, Jennifer Webb (Daniel) and Susan Ellingsen (Donald), two grandchildren, Reece Ellingsen and Erica Webb, brother Roger (Alice) Abel and sister Kathleen (Kenneth) Thompson. He is also survived by in laws Philip and Sandra Swan, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at HALES CORNERS LUTHERAN CHURCH (12300 W. Janesville Rd. Hales Corners, WI) on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 2-3:45 PM with a Funeral Service to begin at 4 PM. Private Entombment Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Parkinson's Foundation.
