Tarnowski, Roland J. "Rollie" Born to eternal life, surrounded by his loving family, on October 22, 2011 at the age of 88. Beloved husband and soul mate of Jane M. (nee Laabs) for 64 years. Loving father of Karen (Ken) Todryk, Howard (Sherry) Tarnowski, Janice (Eric) Czaplewski, and David (Marie) Tarnowski. Proud grandpa of Peter Tarnowski, Nicole (Tony) Koenings, Laura (Tyler) Faken, Wendy (Michael) Murray, Julie Wendell, Steven Paluch, Jennifer Stewart, Nicholas Tarnowski and Cody Tarnowski. Cherished great-grandpa of Ashley, Rodney, Emma, Zachary, Jayson, Kaiser, Presley, Chelsea and the late Estella.. Further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and many long time friends. Preceded in the death by his parents, brother, sisters and in-laws. Rollie was an avid golfer, a consummate card player, loved bingo and gambling, was an umpire and a referee and most of all a sports enthusiast. He was a retired mechanical engineer from the VA Medical Center and WEPCO. He also was a member of Greendale American Legion Post 416 and St. Helen's Over 55 Club, a Marquette Alum, Class of '51, and served in the US Army Air Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant (1943-1946). Visitation on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL. Private interment St. Adalbert Cemetery on Friday. Memorial Mass at WILSON COMMONS CHAPEL, 1400 W. Sonata Drive, Milwaukee, to be announced at a later date. Memorials preferred to the charity of your choice.
