Mr. Robert S. Palkowski, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI, at the age of 89. Born on April 3, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene and daughter, Tammie Palmer. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Florian and Connie Palkowski; his brother, Dan Palkowski; his granddaughter, Candice Bradford (nee Palmer) and her husband, Ronnie Bradford; his great-granddaughter, Alex Bradford and nephews, Robert Palkowski and Anthony Palkowski. Bob's family was the center of his universe, and he cherished the time he spent with them, especially during holidays and family gatherings.
Bob's career as a bus driver for the Milwaukee County Transport Company spanned over three decades. He was well-known for his gentle demeanor and cheerful attitude, which endeared him to both coworkers and passengers alike. He took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word with those he encountered on his route.
Bob was known for his handy skills and could often be found tinkering with tools and fixing things around the house. He had an innate ability to turn seemingly impossible tasks into manageable ones, and his family and friends often relied on his expertise and guidance. His gentle nature and patience made him a natural teacher, and he was always eager to share his knowledge and skills with others.
Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was gardening, or simply soaking in the sun on the deck. He had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and found solace in the tranquility of the outdoors. His love for the natural world was a passion he passed down to his family and friends, and his presence will be felt in the rustling leaves and gentle breezes that surround us.
Bob's unwavering love and support for his family were the cornerstones of his life. He was a pillar of strength for those who leaned on him and a beacon of hope for those who needed encouragement. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he was a role model to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we gather to celebrate Bob's life and remember the countless memories he leaves behind, we are reminded of the impact he had on those around him. His gentle spirit and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will be carried forward through the lives of those he touched.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29th, 2023 from 10:00 am at Max A. Sass Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects and share in the celebration of Bob's life.
Rest in peace, Bob. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you, and your gentle spirit will continue to guide us as we navigate through life without you by our side.
