D-A-D a short title wherein so much living takes place between the space of those letters. Son, man, soldier, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, photographer, fisherman, bowler, friend, car enthusiast, connoisseur of a smooth whiskey, a cold beer, a hot cup of coffee, good food, lover of music, and lastly dancing with the women he loved through this life. Like the solar lights in his yard to his friendship and family his light of love shone brightly. Never a man to mince words - Dad. His character was a firm handshake, a hearty laugh, bears hugs, a stern lecture, or quiet conversation. No pretense existed. You always knew where you stood with him. Dad expected little fanfare on his own life, but how he would be there to celebrate the successes of others when he could. He was a man of principle and his convictions. He lived his life with faith, truth and love. He gave to his family but especially to those in need. He had his gruff times, but could also be the sweetest man you would be lucky to meet. He died as he lived, with truth, courage, and the love of his life, Paula, at his side. When a strong wind blows through, the landscape is forever changed. Dad blew into this life and then quietly blew out, changing the lanscape of all our lives, and for the better. D-A-D - three little letters and between the spaces of a big life, well lived. Your family, your friends, all of the lives you touched, will miss you forever, as will I, and the women you loved until the end, your wife. Have a beer and shot up there, tell some good jokes. Fill up your new place with your presence and the love and laughter you gave to us. Your loving daughter - Renee
