Robert J Makowski

Age 96, October 16, 2015. Preceded in death by his parents Chester and Hattie. Beloved husband of the late Harriet (nee Stravinski). Loving father of Michael, Karen (Stephen) Loreck, John (the late Laurel) and James (Ellen). Proud grandpa of Denise (Steven) LeRoy, Traci Pucci, Paul Makowski, Leah (Jason) Hastings, the late Peter Makowski, Greger Makowski and Collin Makowski. Great-grandpa of Jackson, Emily, Carter, Rocco, Violet, Daisy and Anna. Brother of Marguerite (the late Loren) Young, the late Richard (the late Jayne), the late Bernadine (the late Lorne) Matson and Ralph (Rosemarie) Makowski. Further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Pere Marquette Council and the Catholic War Veterans. During WWII, Robert was in the 1st Infantry Division with service in North Africa, Sicily and D-Day; receiving a Bronze Star with Cluster and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Memorial Gathering on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at SACRED HEART OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3635 S. Kinnickinnic Avenue, St. Francis from 10am until time of Memorial Mass at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or the Disabled American Veterans appreciated.
