Kreuser, Robert J. Age 90, of Muskego, died surrounded by his family on March 22, 2008. Preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Johanna (nee McGrath) and his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth (nee Warzyn). He is survived by his children, Michael (Gwen) of Fort Myers, FL, Stephen of Washburn, WI, John (Colette) of Madison, WI, Katherine (Doug) Lyman of Delafield, WI, Roberta (Todd) Cook of Batesville, IN, Peter (Tammy) of El Dorado Hills, CA, Christine (John) White of Brookfield, WI and Frederick of Muskego and 18 grandchildren. Robert was dedicated to his career in education. He received a bachelors degree from the State Teachers College in Milwaukee and a masters degree and credits towards a Ph.D. from Marquette University. He began teaching in a one room school house in 1935. He became principal of the Muskego Elementary School in 1949. In 1960, he became Superintendent of Schools in Grafton. He returned to Muskego in 1962 to become Superintendent of Schools until he retired in 1982. Robert served as State President of WASDA from 1978-79. He was also active in his community through his involvement on the Fire and Police Commission, Library Board, Historical Society, as a charter member, past president and lifetime member of the Lions Club, charter member of St. Leonard's Catholic Church and member of the Parish Council. After retirement, Robert continued to be active in the community as a mediator for the Mediation Center for over 20 years. Robert was a man of many passions including his love for his wife and family, friends, career, community, church and the family cabin on Lake Superior. Robert enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, story telling and finding humor in most situations. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 26th at St. Leonard Catholic Church (W173 S7743 Westwood Drive, Muskego) from 3-7 PM. Mass of Christian burial to follow at 7 PM. Interment at Rural Home Cemetery on Thursday, March 27th at 10 AM. PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the House of Peace or the WFMC Ruth Kreuser Memorial Scholarship are appreciated.
