Robert Frank Karrels

Karrels, Robert F. Born to Eternal Life on Monday, December 24, 2007, at the age of 77 years. Loving husband of Nina (nee LaChapelle). Cherished father of Judy (Jim) Denk, Mike (Jill) Karrels, Linda (Rano II) Wells, and Tammy (Carlos) Albelo. Bob was survived by his eight grandchildren, James (Dana), Jennifer and Joshua Denk, Matt and Dan Karrels, Rano Wells III, and Graciela and Olivia Albelo. He was also survived by four of his brothers, Cyril (Ann), Daniel (Ellen), Allen (Kay) as well as three of his sisters, Pearl Lauters, Mary Jane Stern and Clara Jean (Daniel) Berlien. Bob is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Clara Karrels, his brother, Rollin, and his sister, Alice Ott. Bob loved petting his cat Pookey while he sat in his recliner watching the Packers, Price is Right or Everybody Loves Raymond. Bob loved to golf and play sheepshead. His smile lit up the room, his hugs soothed the soul and his kisses were golden. Bob was a great role model for his children and the examples that he set throughout his life paved the way for them. He was a very courageous man who lived by the motto ''It's never good to be a quiter''. Bob had served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. All who knew him wittnessed his strength and determination as he fought with everything he had against several cancers. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Divgi for never giving up when there was a reason to fight and for letting us know when the battle had ended. Though our eyes are full of tears, our hearts are full of joyous memories. Knowing that he will no longer suffer will give us the strength to go on. Funeral Mass Saturday 10:30 AM at ST. ALPHONSUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 6060 W. Loomis Rd. Private Interment. Visitation Saturday 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the church. Please meet directly at the church on Saturday for visitation and mass. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society appreciated.
