Robert E. Scrip

August 8, 1960 — March 20, 2021

Robert E. Scrip Milwaukee - "Bob" "WD9ANY" On Saturday, March 20th, 2021, Robert E. Scrip, loving husband and father of two passed away at the age of 60. Robert was born on August 8, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI, to Edmund and Florence (Patelski) Scrip. For the first 9 years of his life, he grew up on Pine Street where he started his first business polishing rocks and sold them to all the customers from the corner store (he never knew that the store owner would send people out to buy Robert’s rocks). This small business laid the foundation for the goal of working for himself. In 1969, his parents built their dream home at Eden Estates and they moved into this new neighborhood. It was during this time that Bob met the Szwalkiewicz family. These kids from the block became a part of his family and he always considered them to be his siblings. Bob was always a hard worker who held many jobs and attended many area colleges where he learned different skills. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in 1994. Soon after, he became the proud owner and operator of Compnetek, Inc. for over 27 years. There was never a computer he couldn’t fix or a customer he couldn’t help. On September 15, 2001, he and Stacy Ann Brown were married in beautiful Door County. They were soon blessed with two amazing children, daughter, Emma, and son, Michael. Robert had many passions in life. One of his favorite hobbies was photography. He loved photographing weddings, senior portraits, and First Communion pictures. You could always find him behind the camera and rarely seen in a photograph. His other hobbies were RC flying and HAM radio (WD9ANY). He was a member of the Flying Electrons, the West Allis Amature Radio Club, and the Moose fraternity. Robert was known for his quick wit, stubborn nature, vast intelligence, and his never ending willingness to share his many talents. Robert was preceded in death by his father Edmund, his mother Florence, brother-in-law, Kelly Brown and sister-in-law, Susan (Brown) Guntert. He is survived by his wife Stacy, his two children Emma and Michael, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Aleta Brown, brother-in-law, Anthony Brown, sister-in-law, Mary Brown, brother-in-law, Christian Guntert and nieces, Rebecca Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Shanna Brown and Kiri Brown. He is also survived by cousins, and many friends he considered family. A visitation will be held on Saturday March 27, 2021 at Max A Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel, 4747 S. 60th St., from 10AM until 12PM with Mass following at St. Matthias Parish Church at 1PM (do not enter church until after 12:45PM). In lieu of flowers, donations for the family are appreciated, which will go towards Emma and Michael’s education.
