Robert E. Fojut

Robert E. Fojut 1933 - 2020 Robert E. Fojut passed away on December 16, 2020, at the age of 87. He is survived by his cherished wife Judith Fojut (nee Smrz). Bob and Judy were married for 57 years. Bob was the devoted father of Lisa (Paul) Regalado, Robert (Andrea) Fojut, John (Annie) Fojut and Jenny (Don) Mullen. He was the loving grandfather of Samuel and Elizabeth Regalado; Paul, Isabella, Anna, Julia, Cecilia and Peter Fojut; Jack and Daniel Fojut; and Olivia, Maggie, Bobby and Patrick “Patch” Mullen. He is further survived by his dear sister JoAnn Schwalbach (the late George), sister-in-law Kathy Petersen, brothers-in-law Steve Petersen and John Aehl (the late Susan), several nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends and neighbors. Bob was born in Beaver Dam in 1933 to Edmund Fojut and Ruth Reinhold Fojut. He grew up in Bay View, where he attended Sacred Heart School. He later studied in the art program at Boys Technology and Trade School. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed at Fort Hood. After discharge, he studied at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee. Bob worked in the advertising industry for more than 30 years. He was a founder of Design North, a commercial art studio in Racine that built a large team of talented professionals and developed a nationwide clientele. After retiring, Bob devoted much of his time to art. He was accomplished in several media, including oil painting and watercolor, drawing, wood carving and cabinetmaking. His work was featured in national art magazines, and he exhibited in several shows at the Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee and other galleries in the state. Bob leaves behind a large circle of dear friends who shared his love for art and enriched his life with their talent and camaraderie. A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. John Brusky and the caring staff at the Aurora St. Luke’s Pain Management Center and to the many wonderful caregivers of Aurora at Home and Zilber Family Hospice. The visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 22, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (6060 W. Loomis Road, Greendale). The burial will follow immediately at Mount Olivet Cemetery (3801 West Morgan Ave., Milwaukee).
