Robert B. “Bob” McBriarty Passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on August 21, 2022. Bob was born to the late Charles and Thelma McBriarty on January 9, 1938 in Elgin, IL and moved to Greenfield, WI in 2014. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret; his children, Sean, Kevin, and Patricia (Michael) Dresen; and his five grandchildren, Ashley, Charles, Erin, Marshall and Louise. Bob is also survived by his brother Charles (Eileen) McBriarty and his sister Mary Stark, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and many cherished family members. After graduating from Elgin High School in 1955, he enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years. Bob was a dedicated employee at Illinois Tool Works as an engineer, where he retired in 1997 after 42 years. As an active and dedicated member of his parish he was the chairman of BINGO, September Fest, Thanksgiving Dinners, and so much more. One of Bob’s favorite past times was listening to music and singing along. His wife will truly miss his melodious tones. There will be a memorial gathering on Saturday August 27, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the atrium (397 Fulton St. Elgin, IL) from 10 am until the Memorial Mass at 11 am. A private military burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. We would like to thank the staff at Froedtert Menomonee Falls and Zilber Hospice for their compassionate care and understanding during our time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
