Rita Marie Crannell

Rita Marie Crannell (Nee Weisgerber). Age 91, formerly of Greendale, WI passed away on December 5, 2020. Rita was born on September 19, 1929 in West Newton, PA to the late Victor N. and Mary K. (nee Bulger) Weisgerber. She was a proud graduate of Seton Hill University (Bachelor of Music, 1951) and Queens College (Master of Science in Education, 1959) and experienced great joy as an elementary music teacher for the West Allis West Milwaukee School District. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne T. Crannell, Sr. and siblings Jack Crannell, Charles Crannell, infant Genevieve Weisgerber, Mary Elizabeth Fitzhenry, and Roberta Tobiczyk. Rita is survived by her children Wayne and Julie Crannell of Sherman, TX and Michael and Caryn Pope of Ada, MI as well as her beloved grandchildren Graham Crannell and Ashton Gelat, Jenna and Eirann Betka-Pope, Jacob Pope, Lydia Crannell, and Kevin Pope. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as dear friends Holly, Virginia, Judy, and Alice. The family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers of Village at Manor Park - Maplewood, especially Maureen, Doris, Kim, Jen, Laura, Bailey, and numerous other therapists, aides, and nurses. Per Rita's wishes, interment at Arlington Park Cemetery in Greenfield, WI will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
