Richard Ronald Solazo

Richard Ronald Solazo, “Richie”, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025 at the age of 91. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn (nee Miller). He is survived by his wife Lois. Loving father of Pamela (Paul) Lefeber, Dana (John) Vaughan, Gregg (Joanna) Solazo. Beloved grandpa of Tom (Maggie), Vanessa, Joshua, Bethany, and Dylan. Great Grandpa of Violet. Dear brother of Donald Solazo, and Patricia (James) Magestro. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Richie was born on May 31, 1933 to the late John and Clara Solazo. He was baptized on June 13, 1933 and confirmed on May 25, 1947 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Bay View. He attended Trowbridge Elementary School and graduated from Bay View High School in 1951.

Richie was drafted into the Army in 1953 and served proudly until 1955. He married Marilyn Miller in 1954 and they then started their family in 1955. In 1972 they built their family home in Greendale. It was in 2001 that he married Lois Cornehls. He became a “snowbird” in 2005 when he purchased his home in The Villages, Florida. 

 He was a member of AMVETS Post 14 and Garibaldi Society. He was also very active in sports throughout his life.

Visitation will be held at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church (8605 W. Forest Home Ave., Greenfield) on Friday, January 10 from 9:30-10:45AM. Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Memorial Fund at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church.
