Richard S. "Dick" Sass

March 29, 1931 — September 25, 2024

Richard S. Sass, known affectionately by friends and family as Dick, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on March 29, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dick was a man whose humor, wisdom, and skillful hands left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Dick's life was one of dedication and love. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Sass (nee Kielma), with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. A loving father, he leaves behind his children Randall (Debra), Dawn, and Kenneth, who will forever remember his guidance and laughter. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas (Sheena), Amanda, Caroline, William (Megan), and Madelaine, and a step great-grandfather to Brynn and Blayne. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his legacy will live on through the values he instilled in them.

After honorably serving in the Army, Dick founded Dick's Electric Company, which grew under his leadership and became a respected business in the community. His work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were matched only by his commitment to those he served. Colleagues and clients alike will remember him not just as a businessman, but as a friend.

Those who knew Dick will recall his humor, a trait that brought light and laughter into even the most mundane moments. His ability to find joy in the everyday was contagious, and he was often the source of smiles at gatherings. His wisdom was sought after, not only by his family but also by friends and associates who valued his thoughtful advice and perspective. Dick was also incredibly handy, a man who could fix anything and often did, both for those he loved and for many grateful neighbors.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The only way to have a friend is to be one." This quote encapsulates Dick's approach to life. He was a friend to many and his presence was a source of comfort and camaraderie to those around him. His friendships were deep and long-lasting, built on a foundation of mutual respect and genuine care.

Dick's absence will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, his wisdom, and his capable hands have left an indelible mark on the world. He was a man of integrity and warmth, who lived his life with a generosity of spirit that will be remembered by all.

As we say goodbye to Richard S. Sass, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey full of love, hard work, and precious moments. He was a man who knew the value of a good joke, the importance of sage advice, and the satisfaction of a job well done. His memory will be treasured, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were touched by his remarkable life.

Rest in peace, Dick Sass. Your memory will be a beacon for all who knew you, and your legacy will carry on through the countless lives you enriched with your presence.
