Richard L. "Dick" Donnelly

November 14, 1930 — October 7, 2008

Donnelly, Richard L. "Dick" Of Franklin. Found Heavenly peace on Oct. 7, 2008 at the age of 77 years. He had a full life filled with blessings and adventures. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 35 years Donna (nee Kerbel). He was a warm hearted man who strove to give character and strength to his children; Richard (Marylynn), Pamela (Platt) Barber, Penny (John) Silbernagel, Patricia Donnelly, Perri (Ross) Donnelly, Polly Carr and Brenda (Patrick) Fagan. Sent off with love from his grandchildren Connor, Brady, Kristin, Brooke, Kelsey, Ashley, Courtney, Lindsey, Michael, Grace, Casey, Tara, Taylor, Jackson, Brian and Kevin. Dear brother of Jane (Robert) Buck, Judy Kleven and Patrick (Rose) Donnelly. Further survived by mother-in-law Bernett Kerbel, brother-in-law Richard Kerbel, nieces, nephews and many friends. Also survived by special friends Janice Weitkunat and Joe and Carol Wink. Preceded to Heaven by his parents Leo and Bernie, his sister Frances, his brother Robert, father-in-law Jake Kerbel, stepson Brian Hamelin and nephew Jeff Kleven. Dick served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University. He was co-founder of Liturgical Publications in WI and President of Donnelly Church Publications in Southern California. Dick loved music, dancing, festivals, golf and was an avid sports fan. To know Dick was to love him. A man of integrity whose strong character and presence impressed everyone. He was a strong Catholic, patriot and proud Irishman. Most of all he was a devoted, loving husband and father who never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand, to provide encouragement or to be there to wipe a tear. His love and incredible strength will be dearly missed. Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Haughey, Dr. Kurt Oesterling and the ladies, especially Nancy, at Oncology Alliance-Mayfair Road. Visitation Friday 4-7 PM at the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel and thereafter Saturday 9:30-10:15 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (7963 S. 116th St., Franklin). Prayer service Friday 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:30 AM at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
