Klein, Richard F. "Dick" Born May 13, 1925 and Entered Eternal Life on May 25, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband of Rita (Nee McKeown) for 56 years. Dear father of Tom, John (Robin) and Ellen (Hans) Kirkegaard. Devoted grandfather of Kelsey, Kristin and Erika Kirkegaard. Further survived by other relatives and friends. He grew up in Janesville, WI and received a Bachelor's Degree from UW Whitewater, and a Master's Degree from Marquette University. Dick was employed by the Milwaukee Public Schools for 33 years as a math teacher and guidance counselor at Walker Junior/Middle School until his retirement in 1985. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an aerial gunner on a B-24 bomber. On the 25th mission, the plane was shot down over Poland and the crew parachuted to safety. He was a member of Milwaukee Area Retired Teachers Finance and Legislative Committee, Wisconsin Retired Educators Association Legislative Committee, AARP Community Council Chairperson and State Coordinating Council member, member of Greendale American Legion Post-416, member and active participant of various organizations at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. If so desired, memorials to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, appreciated. Visitation Friday May 29, 2009 4-5:45 PM at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH (3722 S. 58th St.) with Funeral Mass at 6PM. Private entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
