Raymond “Ray Tabs” Taborshak, 83, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. He was born on October 23, 1938, to the late Fred and Wilhelmina (Kriescher) Taborshak in Milwaukee. Ray was united in marriage to the love of his life Gail Greppi on November 7, 1959, in Milwaukee at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Ray and Gail shared a love that was written for the movies, and Ray spent his life devoted to Gail and their family. He was an exceptional jazz musician who played the Milwaukee Jazz scene for over 50 years. Ray entertained on the stages at Summerfest, played backup and recorded with numerous artists who shared the same love for music. He was a talented musician but most of all, he was very compassionate, lived his life authentically and filled with love for everyone. Ray is survived by his loving wife Gail, daughters Kim (Karl Rose) Rose, Debra (Kevin) Krause and Shelly (Dave) Koehler, grandchildren Jennifer (Pablo), Shannon, Justin (Mandy), Bret (Jessie), Jake, Abby (Justin), Hannah, Klarissa and Braedon, great-grandchildren Savannah, Anthony, Sophia, Gianni, Jude, Ellis and Peyton, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings Dorothy, Clarence, Marilyn and Robert. Visitation at the MAX A SASS & SONS SOUTH SHORE CHAPEL (1314 Manitoba Ave., South Milwaukee) on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM.
