Philip R. Stollenwerk, affectionately known as Phil, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the age of 81 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the city of his birth on July 25, 1943. Phil dedicated 30 years of his career serving the City of Milwaukee in building inspections, a role in which he took great pride.
Phil was a devoted family man, sharing 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathy. Together, they raised a loving family that includes their daughters, Michelle (John) Smith, Amy Stollenwerk (Tim Glisch), and Gwen Stollenwerk, along with their sons, Jay Stollenwerk and Brian (Jill) Stollenwerk. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Ella, Silas, Tyler, Kailey, and Parker.
In addition to his immediate family, Phil is survived by his brothers, Chuck (Sandy) and Claude, and his sister, Mary (Steve). He also joins his late siblings, Ellen and Aleda, in eternal rest.
Phil had a wide array of interests that included traveling and spending memorable times up north with his family. He was an avid supporter of Wisconsin sports teams, passionately rooting for them with a fervor that was inspiring to all who knew him.
Phil’s life will be honored with a memorial gathering on January 24, 2025, at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Muskego, Wisconsin, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit will continue to shine through the stories and memories shared by all who had the privilege to know him.
