Philip “Phil” M. Hall, age 86 of Greenfield, WI, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2020. Phil is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Mary Ann; his children William, Anne (Michael) Knoll; his grandchildren Taylor (Gabriel) Marin and Zach Knoll; “family” Cami Cregar and Rheamarie Fiorita; his sister- in-law Kay Korte. Phil was the last man standing of his nine siblings and is fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. After serving in the U.S. Army, he joined the Elm Grove Police Department as a patrol officer. In 1962, he joined the Greenfield Police Department as one of the six founding officers. As a Detective, he set up the Photo Lab and established the Identification Bureau. He retired after 30 years with the rank of Captain. Phil enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Maps were his favorite reading material. Napping was his favorite hobby. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Aurora Home Hospice and Aurora Zilber Hospice for the loving care shown to Phil and his family. A visitation will be held at Max A Sass & Sons Funeral Home – Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St, Greenfield) on Saturday, October 03 from 10 am until 12 pm. Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (6060 W Loomis Rd., Greendale) on Saturday, October 03 at 12:30 pm. Future interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil’s name may be made to the Aurora Health Care Foundation (Zilber Family Hospice), St. Alphonsus Catholic Church or the charity of your choice. Facial masks are required to be worn at the funeral home for visitation and for Mass at St. Alphonsus. The Mass will be livestreamed.
