Paul J. Rozek, 66, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family after a long battle with kidney cancer.
Loving husband and best friend of Karen (nee Marsolek) for 40 years. Loving dad of Bryan (Jenny) Rozek and Katie (David) Wanke, and proud grandpa to Lilyann and Penelope Rozek. Wonderful brother to his 3 favorite sisters Judy (Mark) Dietrich, Janet Jenness, and Joan (Gary) Karnes. Fun-loving uncle to Scott (Allison) Dietrich, Meghan (Mike) Byrnes, Matthew (Emily) Dietrich, Ryan (Trish) Jenness, Lauren Schneider and their 12 children. Further survived by many wonderful family members, friends and neighbors. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Jean Marie Rozek (nee Collins) and in-laws Kenneth and Kathleen Marsolek (nee Host).
Paul was a proud greyhound graduate from St. Matthew’s Catholic grade school, Thomas More High School and MSOE.
Paul retired, after 37 years, from Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) where it seemed he knew just about everyone and made many cherished friendships. He missed the time spent with co-workers in “The Coffee Room” where many of the world problems, large and small, were solved.
Family occasions and holidays were special to him, he rarely missed an opportunity to attend and would almost always be the last to leave. Time spent at the lake was never wasted when he was enjoying the sun on the shore, driving the boat, or tending to the fire pit each night. Sometimes he would go missing, but then we remembered to check the neighbor’s yard to find him chatting. His family and friends will remember all the great times they spent with him and the good person that he was. The memories we have will be cherished forever.
A special thank you to Dr. Ruggeri, the wonderful cancer team at St. Luke’s Hospital, and Aurora at Home Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, (12700 W Howard Ave., New Berlin) until the 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
